Workshop of the org_art_lab 2025, Composition in digital space
On Thursday, 13 November, from 2 to 5 p.m., Greg Beller will give a workshop on voice, gesture and artificial intelligence in music. Greg Beller is a composer, researcher and artist working at the intersection of science, art and technology. His work explores the diverse relationships between voice, gesture, space and musical composition. With a particular focus on the connection between body movement and voice production, he develops new forms of interaction and representation in music.
In this workshop, Greg Beller will present his current fields of research: speech and voice processing, the relationship between gesture and voice, augmented and virtual reality, writing for choir, immediate musical representation, and the role of artificial intelligence in composition.
A central part of the workshop is the presentation of the Synekine project, which explores new ways of expressive communication between body and sound, as well as the demonstration of Spatial Sampler XR, an interactive system for the immersive spatial design of sound.
The workshop will be illustrated with musical examples from Greg Beller’s own work and invites the audience to discover new forms of perception, composition and musical experience. The workshop will be held in English.
Organists, composers and anyone interested in new forms of music, innovative playing techniques and interdisciplinary exchange are invited to attend the workshops.
